Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Senior Database Coordinator is a leader within the University Relations and Advancement's Advancement Services team, providing ongoing database management consultation. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the database contains accurate and reliable data and coordinates with data-entry staff to monitor the quality of incoming data, including biographical data, education, gift history, relationships, affiliations, and proposals submitted.

Provides regular training to the Development Data Analyst and oversees their database entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures and database best practices.

Collaborates with end-users to identify department needs and assist staff in setting up queries/exports.

Serves as a point person for all incoming requests through advancement.services@csun.edu and either processes the request personally or forwards it to the appropriate staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.

Five years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience, including one year of project management, team leadership, database implementation and procedural development.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Extensive knowledge of: programming, systems analysis techniques, and systems development principles; and relational database principles. Thorough knowledge of analytical methods and techniques; general programming, database and testing methods, especially as related to Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems.

Ability and specialized skills to: code, test, and debug software applications; provide ongoing project leadership to technical development staff; analyze problems and propose effective solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions.

Ability to: relate system solutions to departmental management and staff; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; develop and make presentations; conduct meetings; develop and provide user training; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Classification / grade: 0400 / Analyst/Programmer / 3

The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $6686 - $7797 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $6686 - $12,947 per month.

HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.

REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.

The position is currently hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
