Project Coordinator for Victim Services and Interpersonal Violence Prevention

Classification: Support Staff - Limited Term through 9/30/2022, Full Time - 12 months - 2080 Hours

Reports to: Director of Student Conduct and Victim Services

Description: The Project Coordinator for Victim Services is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Violence Against Woman grant, develop and co-chair a Coordinated Campus Response Team, assist in the development and implementation of a healthy masculinity program

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of the Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women grant
  • Assist in budget tracking for OVW Grant
  • 50% of time spent on victim support services including referrals to campus- and community-based resources
  • Co-chair Coordinated Campus Response Team
  • Develop and implement curriculum for sexual and interpersonal violence prevention program
  • Assist with the implementation of campus programs and trainings
  • Serve as the ongoing liaison between campus stakeholders and community partners
  • Assist in the implementation and expansion of bystander intervention education program
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a healthy masculinity program
  • Assist in the review and development of policies, procedures and protocols as it relates to interpersonal violence
  • Assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of peer advocates
  • Participate in ongoing proactive technical training as required by the OVW grant
  • Assist with the supervision of a Graduate Assistant
  • Serve as an on call advocate for students
  • Preform other duties as assigned

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's degree in a relevant area: higher education administration, community health education, public health or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the development and implementation of victim services and prevention programs and experience with crisis management, intervention and victim advocacy and support

    Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work some nights and weekends
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High energy level, self-motivated and self-directed to design and implement programming and events
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

    Term of Employment: This position is limited term with grant funding through 9/30/2019.
