RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct clinical services, including phone screenings, intake assessments, brief psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population.

  • Provide consultation and training to faculty, administrators, families, and students on the mental and emotional health experiences and needs of international students.

  • Research, develop and implement clinical, population based and primary prevention interventions for engaging and supporting international students.

  • Liaise and collaborate with departments, committees and student organizations that focus on serving international students.

  • Provide clinical supervision to a clinical extern (second semester).

  • Participate in CPS training, multidisciplinary and administrative team meetings.

  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.




QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed doctorate in clinical, counseling or school psychology or related field (ABD candidates may be considered).

  • Minimum one year of experience and demonstrated competency with providing short-term treatment, outreach, and primary prevention in a university mental health setting.

  • Demonstrated interest, experience, and competency in working with international students and inter-cultural dynamics.

  • Fluency in Mandarin and familiarity with Asian cultures strongly preferred.

  • Commitment to providing multicultural counseling and conceptualizing from a psychodynamic framework.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse university community of students, faculty, administrators, and families.

  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
