Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has more than 775 students and 18 full-time faculty members. The faculty are committed to growing a program that is nationally recognized for providing outstanding and hands-on education to aspiring civil and environmental engineers, as well as peer-reviewed research with relevance. Scholarship in the department includes both industry and government-funded research projects focused on the practical application of engineering principles. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering faculty position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a preferred start date of August 2024. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering.
  • In addition to the area of specialization within Civil Engineering, the Faculty member may be expected to teach general courses in Civil Engineering.
  • Courses are taught on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in person, which may include labs.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is required for an Instructor position.
  • Terminal/Doctorate degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is required for an Assistant Professor position.


Preferred Qualifications
  • A PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level
  • Willingness to teach face-to-face, online, or hybrid modalities on an as-needed basis
