Instructor for Nursing (Part-Time)

UIW Mission

Position Summary
The Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions at University of the Incarnate Word seeks qualified part-time faculty for clinical and lab instruction in fundamentals, adult health, maternal-child health (pediatrics and care of childbearing family), psychiatric-mental health, medical-surgical nursing, and community health in the undergraduate nursing program.

This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty as needed.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Preparation of course outline based on the syllabus provided by the department;
-Evaluation of student performance through either exam, paper, or assessment of student clinical skills;
-Perform other administrative duties needed to complete the teaching and grading processes

-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Required Education

Required Work Experience
Three (3) years of clinical practice

Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-Eligible for an unencumbered license as an RN in Texas;
-Licenses must be obtained upon hire and maintained during the course of employment.
