Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is looking for a graphic designer to represent our robust Academic Affairs division. This is an embedded position that operates under the purview of UVU's central Marketing and Communications and serves as a dedicated designer for Academic Affairs. This position will work collaboratively with central Marketing and Communications, which operates as a full-service agency within the university.

The graphic designer for Academic Affairs guides the development of all creative projects in coordination with the Student Affairs MarCom team. This position is meant for the well-organized, creative problem-solver who works to deliver collateral for memorable and inspiring experiences for the students, faculty, and staff of UVU. Specifically, this position will:

Create graphically designed content for print and digital assets, including the UVU website.
Be instrumental in creative projects for the department with the support of an in-house creative team.
Develop visual communication standards and style guides for marketing materials across the Academic Affairs division.
Foster key relationships with vendors, executive-level staff, university marketing, university printing, and the mail room to oversee the production and distribution of marketing materials.
Use marketing and design to solve objectives for the department.

The hybrid schedule is 1-2 days remote.

Summary of Responsibilities

Create graphically designed content for print and digital assets, including the UVU website.
Foster key relationships with vendors, executive-level staff, university marketing, university printing, and the mail room to oversee the production and distribution of marketing materials.
Be instrumental in creative projects for the department with the support of an in-house creative team.
Develop visual communication standards and style guides for marketing materials across the Academic Affairs division.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and one year experience in managing a portfolio of creative projects or an associate degree with three years experience in similar duties or any combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge of graphic design and the creative process for both printed and online materials.
Knowledge of print production. Knowledge of brand or working within an established brand.
Knowledge of print and product materials and working with vendors.
Skilled in a broad range of graphic design computer applications including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and XD.
Highly organized with baseline project management skills.
Strong interpersonal communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to be flexible with creative design.
Ability to manage challenging workload with multiple timelines.
Ability to organize and execute activities for current students, faculty, and staff.
