SUMMARY:
The Department of Computer Science & Information Systems is seeking an individual to lead and advance cybersecurity within the department. The successful candidate shall have significant research and/or industry experience in a cybersecurity area such as computing, healthcare infrastructure, cyber physical systems, or energy sectors. The Associate Professor - Cybersecurity is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track / tenured position, at the Associate Professor rank. The position will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an externally funded research program; seek to establish industry partnerships; disseminate knowledge through presentations and publications; participate in all aspects of the department's and college's activities; and serve the profession. Position will also collaborate with other researchers within the department, college, and across the university. This position begins Fall 2020.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership in the area of cybersecurity within the department
Teach both undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity and computer science courses
As needed, assist in and/or lead the development of new undergraduate and/or graduate courses
As needed, assist in and/or lead the development of new cybersecurity graduate certificates
Establish a strong publication record
Disseminate knowledge through presentations and publications
Actively seek and attract extramural funding and industry funded partnerships
Establish a network within the regional industry
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Serve on selected departmental, college and university committees
Participate in all aspects of the department's and college's activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Academic background commensurate with the rank of associate professor or higher. Proven experience record in an area of cybersecurity.
Ability to: Multitask and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and others with varying cultures and backgrounds.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated record of obtaining grants and/or extramural funding in an area of cybersecurity. Demonstrated industry experience in an area of cybersecurity. Experience with and/or working knowledge of ABET accreditation. Leadership responsibilities within a graduate computer science and/or cybersecurity program. At least one year of teaching experience at the higher education level with evidence of teaching excellence.
