JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor in Modern European history starting in August 2021.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We especially seek scholars whose work develops transnational, international, comparative or global perspectives linking Europe to the broader world. In their application materials, we encourage candidates to discuss how their scholarship and teaching in Modern European history can enhance the department's existing and emerging thematic strengths in gender, sex and women's studies; migration and mobility; and race, ethnicity, and indigeneity. The position requires promise of teaching excellence, versatility, and strong evidence of scholarly potential. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand before August 2020.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, cover letter, and names and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin on March 14, 2021 and will remain open until filled. The cover letter should feature the candidate's relevant teaching experience, area(s) of scholarly interest, and any possible contributions that the candidate may be able to make to enhance an evolving culture of diversity and inclusion at WPI. Although this is a non-tenure track position, promotions to the ranks of Associate Teaching Professor and Full Teaching Professor are possible.
