Position Summary

Reporting to the Head Coach, Womenâ€™s Basketball, the Assistant Coach will assist in the organization, planning, teaching, and coaching of all practices and games.

This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.

Essential FunctionsÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

Assists in the individual skill development of student-athletes. Provides ongoing oversight of student-athleteâ€™s conduct.

Evaluates, identifies, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10 and NCAA regulations and policies.

Provides assistance in mentoring student-athletes in areas surrounding the power of networking, resourcefulness, and tactics for developing mental fortitude.

Coordinates junior college recruiting, including but not limited to identifying potential student-athletes, developing relationships with coaches, and overseeing all recruiting services.

Mentors, develops, and retains junior college student-athletes, with a focus on successful transition to a 4-year program.

Complies with all NCAA, Atlantic 10 and University rules and regulations.

Aids with conflict resolution; provides guidance with negotiating campus processes such as registration, financial aid, and residence life; assists with the development of positive interpersonal relationships, including campus integration with other students and faculty.

Attend fundraising events upon request to support the program.

Required Qualifications: Education and ExperienceÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

Bachelorâ€™s Degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a basketball coach.

Valid driverâ€™s license.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and SkillsÂÂÂÂÂ

High level organizational skills

Demonstrated commitment and motivation to building a successful program

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Preferred QualificationsÂ

Experience working on the staff of an NCAA Division I collegiate womenâ€™s basketball program.

Minimum Starting Salary: $85,000

Â

Maximum Starting Salary: $95,000

Â

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
