What We Are Looking For

The Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Host reports to the Event Manager and ensures that visitors to the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum (ABL) are greeted, welcomed, and enjoy a safe, secure, and informative visit. In support of Baylor's Christian mission, we invite those active in their faith community through a church, parish, or synagogue to apply.

A high school diploma and one year of relevant experience are required. An associate's degree and three years of relevant experience are preferred.

*Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems in order to be successful in the role.

Required hours: Ability to work consistently Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm with occasional evening and weekend hours.

What You Will Do
  • Greet visitors and give tours of the ABL
  • Maintain awareness of and assist with scheduled events in the ABL
  • Answer the telephone, transfer calls, and take messages
  • Assist supervisor by overseeing student workers
  • Notify supervisor and/or facility services of maintenance issues
  • Stock and cashier in the gift shop
  • Relieve supervisor by managing weekend or evening events in the ABL as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
