Position Information

Hiring Department: Grants Management Accounting

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm.

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $45,000 annually.

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.





Purpose of Position

Summary

Plans, directs and manages accounting activities within the Grants Management Support Center.

Essential Functions

Compiles and analyzes financial information to review entries to grant accounts in the University's general ledger.

Reviews post award activity to include expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, receivables, appointments, student notice of awards, and any other document with grant funding for approval and allowability.

Research overdrafts on grants and works closely with various university departments to resolve.

Initiates and prepares financial queries to review grant transactions for closeout processes once a grant ends.

Research any grant related issues and prepare financial workbooks that explain findings. Recommends solutions based on findings, allowability on grant, university policy/process and works with departments until finalized.

Determines proper handling of financial transactions based on allowability of grant, uniform guidance and university policy/process.

Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective actions and procedures.

Provides training to campus as needed on grants transactions processes.

Assists in the testing of institutional software systems, as needed.

Assists with various special projects as needed.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Occasional traveling required

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree

and

Experience: Two years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
