Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

 

Serves as UITS's lead advisor and practitioner for organizational performance, operational excellence, and strategic execution. Partners with IT leaders to assess current-state capabilities using recognized maturity frameworks and industry benchmarks, define target-state capabilities and desired outcomes, and develop multi-year roadmaps that advance university priorities.

Facilitates structured assessments of IT functions, services, and processes; establishes performance measurement frameworks, scorecards, metrics, and KPIs; and analyzes results to identify capability gaps, improvement opportunities, and strategic priorities. Collaborates with academic, administrative, and IT stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into measurable outcomes and ensure progress is consistently monitored, evaluated, and communicated.

Leverages methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, capability maturity modeling, benchmarking, organizational performance management, and continuous improvement to service quality, operational effectiveness, customer experience, and business outcomes.  Serves as an internal consultant and trusted advisor to IT leadership, providing analytical support, maturity assessments, strategic planning facilitation, roadmap development, KPI governance, and performance improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - 
1. Define, implement, and govern organizational scorecards, metrics, and key performance indicators. 
2. Assess organizational capabilities using maturity frameworks, benchmarks, and industry best practices.
3. Facilitate process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. 
4. Facilitate current-state and future-state assessments for IT functions, services, and organizational capabilities. 
5. Develop strategic roadmaps that align capability improvements with university and UITS priorities. 
6. Establish performance baselines and monitor progress toward strategic and operational goals. 
7. Identify capability gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis. 
8. Produce executive dashboards, maturity reports, performance summaries, and strategic recommendations. 
9. Partner with IT leaders to prioritize improvement initiatives and measure realized benefits and outcomes. 
10. Provide consulting, facilitation, and advisory services to support organizational performance and operational excellence initiatives.

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in business, information systems, finance, or a related field.

Required Experience
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in information technology, business analysis, continuous improvement, operational excellence, organizational performance management, process improvement, or strategic planning supporting complex enterprise environments.

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving process analysis, capability assessment, KPI development, performance measurement, organizational change, roadmap development, or operational improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in business, information systems, public administration, engineering, analytics, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience
Experience conducting organizational capability assessments utilizing recognized maturity models and benchmarking frameworks.
Experience developing strategic roadmaps, implementation plans, and organizational performance dashboards.
Experience defining and governing enterprise performance measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and service-level metrics.
Experience facilitating strategic planning, process improvement, or operational excellence initiatives in complex organizations.
Experience supporting IT governance, portfolio management, organizational transformation, or enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
