Job Summary

 

The coordinator will assist with the day-to-day operations of the CURS Program, which includes recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in research and scholarship. The coordinator will manage the office in the absence of the Director. The coordinator provides planning of programming that encourages and supports student engagement in research as well as relevant opportunities for faculty mentor development.

The broad scope of the position is one that will assist the Director in overseeing and expanding inquiry-based activities that prepare highly qualified students who are competitive for graduate and professional school programs and the workforce.

Responsibilities

 

 The duties include, but are not limited to:

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Assist the Director in planning and executing data collection for learning outcomes, office assessments, and impact reports. 

DEVELOP PROGRAM:

  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate ongoing programming, including workshops, tours, conferences, summer programs, and grants. 

  • Assist the Director in developing new programming as needed. 

  • Ensure communication with relevant parties. 

  • Coordinate CURS office communications and publications, including the Newsletter and Arsenal Journal submission, editing, and publication process. 

  • Recruit and train reviewers and staff. 

SUMMER SCHOLAR PROGRAM:

  • Coordinate the student hiring process for office staff and the Summer Scholars Program. 

  • Approve employee time reporting and work with HR on maintenance. 

  • Supervise office assistants and Student Ambassadors. 

ADVISING:

  • Conduct advising and education with students interested in research participation, Student Ambassadors, and prospective AU students. 

OTHER RELATED DUTIES:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree from an Accredited college or University with a minimum of One year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Master's degree from an accredited college or university. 

Experience in advising, tutoring, or leading students in a higher education setting. 

Experience in programming to enhance student leadership and professional development. 

Experience in carrying out research at the undergraduate or graduate level. 

Experience in preparing budgets, purchasing, and fiscal projections. 

Experience mentoring students in undergraduate research. 

Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis. 

Experience with manuscript preparation and/or review for publication. 

Experience with social media management. 

Successful experience with grant writing and management. 

Experience teaching in higher education and/or professional development.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Shift/Salary/Benefits

 

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B6

Salary: $39,200.00/Annually-$43,848.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
