Job Description Summary
The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School is one of the nation's oldest and most distinguished law schools. This part-time position supports a project intended to create resources for community service in Philadelphia courts. The Project Coordinator manages three Community Liaisons for 10-20 hours per week between September 2026 and June 2027, which will include running weekly meetings and reporting progress and concerns to research team members. During the pilot project between January 2027 and June 2027, liaisons will be expected to respond to clients within their region within 24 business hours or to forward the message to the Project Coordinator within that timeframe. The Project Coordinator must be able to handle such concerns in a timely and professional manner, either through their own judgment or by asking the research team. Team members work remotely, but candidates should be based in Philadelphia or near enough to frequently meet with stakeholders and attend events.
Job Description
Project Management
- Communicate frequently with the research team to establish goals, progress, and timelines.
- Work with the research team on planning, progress reports, and data collection.
- Lead recruiting for other team members including a web designer and three community liaisons.
- Plan, attend, and execute promotion and conclusion events.
- Respond to client concerns as they appear and are raised by Community Liaisons.
- Respond to or elevate concerns to the research team in a timely and professional manner.
- Work with vulnerable populations and community members and organizations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Meet with other stakeholders and provide support to community groups, court representatives, and stakeholders as needed.
- Suggest ideas for project improvement and efficiency to the research team.
Liaison Oversight
- Support the hiring and onboarding of Community Liaisons.
- Run weekly meetings for entire team.
- Elevate Community Liaison concerns to research team when necessary.
- Establish Community Liaison goals, timelines, and means of effectively tracking progress.
- Ensure progress is met or goals are revised in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Provide varied and complex support and assistance to all staff as necessary (reports, event staffing, etc.).
- Additional duties as assigned by the research team.

Qualifications
- Project coordination and team management experience, ideally in the government, nonprofit, or research sector
- Familiarity with research and research needs, especially in the areas of program evaluation or justice systems
- Familiarity with several regions in Philadelphia
- Experience interacting with and working for Philadelphia community groups and nonprofits
- Experience with and sensitivity to vulnerable populations including justice-involved individuals
- Knowledge of court systems, especially within Philadelphia
- Reliable communication and ability to attend online and in-person meetings
- Organized, adaptable, energetic and articulate with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to travel and staff events within Philadelphia
- Ability to solve problems and provide support to community members and vulnerable populations
This position pays between $30.00- $50.00/hour and will be determined based on candidacy.
