Position Announcement
The School of Education at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer faculty position as a Secondary Education faculty with expertise in Physical Education Teacher Education in the Secondary & Special Education Department. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of physical education teacher education principles and practices, as well as relevant K-12 teaching experience. This individual will teach undergraduate courses in physical education, teacher education, and related aspects of program management. UVU's School of Education maintains a robust, high-quality PETE program. The position will begin on August 1st, 2026.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Teaches up to 30 credit hours between Fall and Spring semesters, possibly including student teaching supervision.
- Demonstrate flexibility in modalities and schedules that accommodate students' schedules.
- Supervision of early practicum experiences
- Maintains and submits accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.
- Establishes and maintains office hours.
- Maintains currency in fields of expertise and pedagogy.
- Assists department chair, faculty, and staff in maintaining an effective program, including advisement and recruitment of students, curriculum development, program changes, etc.
- Attends meetings as assigned.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in physical education or in a field closely related.
- At least two years of relevant K-12 learner-centered teaching experience.
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a doctoral degree in a field closely related to the field of instruction.
- At least two years of college/university teaching experience.
- Earned relevant professional license or credentials.
- K-12 teaching and leadership experience (e.g., instructional coach, team leader, district coordinator/specialist, PLC facilitator).
- Experience supporting preservice teachers in a capstone project and/or student teaching supervision.
