Job Summary


The Center for Technology Workforce Innovation (CTWI) encourages applications for the Community Engagement Manager! This role is primarily responsible for development and implementation of programs related to the Aspirations in Computing Community. In collaboration with various team members and collaborators, the Community Engagement Manager creates engaging programming to support the technology journey of members of the Aspirations in Computing Community. In particular, the Community Engagement Manager will identify and create high-leverage programming that meets the needs of members from high school into early workforce. The Community Engagement Manager role is highly collaborative and will work closely with the CTWI Director of Programs, CTWI staff and team members, volunteers, academic and industry partners, participants, parents and others.

The Community Engagement Manager will primarily support the efforts of high school award recognitions and the related community.

Who We Are


The CTWI is a coalition of more than 1,600 corporations, universities, and non-profits working to increase participation in the technology ecosystem through innovative programs and research. It is prominent on the national computing landscape and has raised over $28 million in NSF grants, as well as considerable corporate gifts. The CTWI organization is part of the College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Colorado-Boulder. It spans both university staffing, financial and legal procedures, and in addition, receives funding from a non-profit 501(c)(3), to implement financial, legal, and governance procedures on its behalf.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Community Engagement:
  • Analyze effective engagement strategies for students in engineering, computing and technology.
  • Articulate strategic programming that meets the differing needs of key community segments including high school, college, and early workforce.
  • Create online community services that serve high school students, college students, and early workforce members.
  • Design and facilitate high-leverage programming catering to the AiC Community including peer-led events, webinars, workshops, and sponsored events.
  • Identify internal and external partners for content and career exploration.
  • Implements policies and processes to support member engagement.
  • In collaboration, develops and offers virtual and in-person events that support and engage aspiring technologists and program members.

Member Platforms and Processes:
  • Ensure that distinct community segments are clearly articulated so that members can navigate offerings.
  • Manage the digital "homes" for the community, including Slack and LinkedIn.

Communications and Help Desk Support:
  • Collaborate with team members to support outbound communications to community members.
  • Manage customer service and helpdesk functions for Community member needs.

Other:
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Stay apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities and serve on unit, college or campus committees as applicable.


What You Should Know

  • This position will work standard business hours with flexibility. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy.
  • Candidate must have a willingness and ability to travel.


What We Can Offer


The salary range is $70,000 - $75,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Three years of program and/or program management experience, preferably in non-profit.
  • Previous experience working with CTWI.


What You Will Need

  • Project management and project tracking experience.
  • Ability to coordinate under pressure of set timelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong professional interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written). Ability to understand dynamic organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, within a strong team environment. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, often under time pressures. Ability to accurately prioritize workow.
