Job Summary:

This position specifically will be supporting clinical trial operations for Spine division within the department of Orthopedics. A primary element of the position will be focused on patient chart review and data entry, so preference will be given to candidates with EMR experience and a proven history of accountability and meeting expectations. This position will also support basic activities for clinical trials including patient-forward duties like obtaining informed consent, collecting patient reported outcomes, maintaining study binder documentation, and monitoring patient follow ups.

This position's appointment has a limited duration of one (1) to two (2) years from date of hire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior research staff with new and ongoing research projects, contributing to various aspects of study execution.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA regulations, IRB requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Support clinical trials by managing timelines, tracking study progress, and may assist with regulatory submissions.
  • Conduct chart reviews to extract relevant clinical data and confirm participant eligibility in trials.
  • Perform and record various measurements from radiographs
  • Perform data entry into an internally managed RedCap database
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of research findings.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of some days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Specific schedules will be determined by the position's supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
  • Clinical research or related experience
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)


Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $48,446-$61,623.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
