Job Description

This position would work with the Center for Practice Engaged
Educational Research (C-PEER) in the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) performing
duties related to externally funded C-PEER contracts.


Professional Research Assistant (Limited Term)
What you will do:
Work with C-PEER partners, under supervision of C-PEER co-directors to:
  • Organize and clean data sources (including recoding /de-identification of datasets), and
    conduct analyses of quantitative and qualitative data. 20%
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, and observations. 10%
  • Participate in the development of reports and publications. 20%
  • Assist with background review of literature relevant to C-PEER research activity. 10%
  • Communicate with partner site teams as needed. 30%
  • Participate with regular C-PEER team meetings. 10%


    Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Degree requirements - Master's degree in education or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience with applied research activities, including collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and communication with a variety of practitioner audience participants with field-based research.

    Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

    Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Effective Interpersonal communication including the ability to adapt or modify oral and written presentations to the developmental level and needs of the audience.
  • Great teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to try new things and develop creative solutions.
  • Experience with basic data collection and analysis.
  • Experience with data used in educational and social science research.
  • Basic knowledge of educational and social science research methodology
  • Preferred familiarity with statistical software and methods and intermediate statistics.


    Conditions of Employment
  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

  • This position may be performed in a hybrid or remote environment, requiring the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. This includes maintaining a dedicated workspace free of excessive noise or distractions, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings for extended periods. Employees must be able to independently manage time, remain stationary for prolonged computer-based work, and transport necessary equipment (such as a laptop and peripherals) between their remote work location and the office as needed.

    Compensation and Benefits
    The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $10,400 for 20% FTE appointment.
    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
    This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
