Description:
The Department of Philosophy at Smith College invites applications for two full-time, non-renewable positions of Lecturer, to begin July 1, 2026. One position is for two years; the other is for one year. Teaching load for both positions is five courses over two semesters. AOS: Open. AOC: The department has teaching needs in philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and logic. Applicants should have an AOC in at least one of these areas. An AOC in logic is needed for one of the positions. Ph.D. in Philosophy by the time of appointment is preferred. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Philosophy are encouraged to apply.

In addition to a competitive benefits package, starting pay range for this position is typically between $74,200-$76,200. Actual compensation will vary based on individual qualifications.
