College/Department Information

The Supply Management Division goals are to provide a comprehensive, fully integrated supply management program that provides quality, cost effective and timely services through a well-trained, professional staff and technical resources, to meet current and future needs of Augusta University.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the records management activities of the entire university. Ensures compliance with BOR retention and destruction schedules. Provides support to Receiving & Distribution in receipts, verification, storage, issuance, and delivery of various supplies for the institution.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Property Control

Assist in special inventory of materials. Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned areas.

Identify assets to be tagged and liaison with the Property Control team to initiate the tagging process.

Administrative

Respond to customers' requests in a professional, helpful, and timely manner in person, email or telephone.

Receiving and Distribution

Receive, unpack shipments, and verify contents against purchase orders and invoices. Record receiving reports on all merchandise. Prepare reports concerning shortages and damaged materials received. Store material according to established procedures and follow up with departments on delivery. Generate storeroom issued documents using computers, printer hardware and interdepartmental developed software.

Equipment Control

Operate light or medium weight trucks and equipment to pick up and deliver materials and supplies according to priority or need or predetermined schedule. Load and unload trucks by hand or forklift. Transport and transfer supplies and equipment from warehouse to departments all over campus.

Other

Recommend the ordering of equipment, materials, and supplies that are needed.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or GED from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and 1 plus years of experience in related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualification

Associates degree or higher in an administrative area or related field is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Materials Management, Warehouse, and logistical experience beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality and to provide excellent customer service

Ability to achieve department and organizational goals

Ability to use forklift, pallet jacks, carts, etc. and to move furniture and other equipment

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

General knowledge of Asset Management, Supply Management and common sense

Must be able to drive vans and pick-up trucks

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Warehouse operation skills

KNOWLEDGE

General knowledge of Asset Management, Supply Management, and common sense. Ability to provide excellent customer service and achieve department and organizational goals. Must be able to drive vans and pick-up trucks.

SKILLS

Skills needed for warehouse operations. Able to use forklift, pallet jacks, carts, etc. Furniture and equipment moving skills. Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate effectively with good grammar.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Band: 5

Salary Minimum: $17.88/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Driver's License Statement
