Job Description:
What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Host to support the mission and vision of the University within the University Libraries Division. The Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Host reports to the Event Manager and ensures that visitors to the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum (ABL) are greeted, welcomed, and enjoy a safe, secure, and informative visit.

Required hours: Part-time position. Must be able to work consistently Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours.

A High School Diploma and one year of relevant work experience is required. An Associate's Degree and three years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Skills:

Excellent communication and customer service skills with a keen ability to improvise and adapt when giving group tours
Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems are required to be successful in the role

What You Will Do

Greet visitors and give group tours of the ABL
Maintain awareness of and assist with scheduled events in the ABL
Answer the telephone, transfer calls, and take messages
Assist supervisor by overseeing student workers
Notify supervisor and/or facility services of maintenance issues
Stock and cashier in the gift shop
Help arrange furniture (chairs, tables, etc.) and facilitate events hosted at the ABL
Relieve supervisor by managing weekend or evening events in the ABL as assigned
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
