PS Research Assistant/Analyst

Job Summary

The Division of Epidemiology's Program for Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge and Advocacy (PARCKA) is seeking a Research Assistant to join our team. PARCKA is an interdisciplinary team aiming to improve the lives of those affected by substance use.

This position is part-time (up to 20 hours per week) and generally on-site at our office in Research Park on the University of Utah campus. 
 
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a necessity. Prior experience with qualitative research is desirable though not a requirement. If the applicant has no prior experience with qualitative research required for the position, on-the-job training will be provided.

  1. Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
  2. Proactively contact enrolled participants at designated time points and complete structured assessments over the phone.
  3. Maintain study blinding to participants' randomized arm.
  4. Accurately document interactions and ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
  5. May be required to obtain a notary license and notarize study-related forms.
  6. May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data
  7. Evaluates questionnaires for accuracy and completeness, reviews questionnaires against source documents and edits as needed. Contacts study participants by phone to verify data.
  8. Conduct safety and mental-health screenings with study participants and complete all required documentation and follow-up procedures.
  9. Ensure documents are provided according to established timelines.
  10. Answer participant queries and maintain research records in compliance with regulations.
  11. Evaluates questionnaires for accuracy and completeness, reviews questionnaires against source documents and edits as needed. Contacts study participants by phone to verify data.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required..

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
