Facilities Management at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking 2 motivated and dependable Non-Licensed Electricians to support our campus electrical team! These positions assist licensed electricians and perform a variety of electrical maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and reliable operation of campus facilities and lighting systems. Strong customer service skills are essential, as these roles involve regular interaction with campus staff, faculty, and students.

Who We Are
Facilities Management is responsible for the overall physical development and maintenance of the campus. The mission of the department is to provide a safe physical environment that promotes the advancement and transfer of knowledge.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Perform LED lighting retrofit projects, including replacing fixtures and lamps; may involve limited live electrical work following all safety procedures.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs) on exit signs and emergency lighting, including testing, battery replacement, and documentation.
- Assist journeyman electricians with installations, repairs, and renovation projects across campus buildings.
- Troubleshoot and repair exterior lighting systems, including parking lot lights, walkway lighting, and building-mounted fixtures.
- Provide excellent customer service when responding to campus service requests or interacting with building occupants.
- Maintain clean, organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow all campus safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical shop guidelines.
What You Should Know
- These positions are eligible for our Facilities Management Employee Referral Program.
- We are hiring for 2 positions, both of which are in-person with an anticipated work schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. These positions may be required to work weekends, alternate or extended shifts at the discretion of the work unit supervisor.
What We Can Offer
- The annual salary range for these positions is $50,856 - $64,000.
- If you have prior state-classified experience in the same class series as this position, your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1, 2024.

What We Require
- Must be a Colorado resident to apply.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license.
- 2 years of relevant experience. A combination of related education, satisfactory completion of a formalized electrician apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.
