Job Summary:
The Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science is seeking a Research Services Manager to oversee four 5-year, NIH-funded studies: 1) three R01s encompassing a longitudinal cohort study with 1307 families and a sub-study with 631 families, and 2) a RCT intervention study, which are being conducted by Dr. Jerica Berge (the Principal Investigator). This position oversees a total of four research projects at CU and two additional sub-contracts the University of Minnesota and the University of Georgia. Thus, this position will encompass multi-site coordination across three study sites including CU, University of Minnesota, and the University of Georgia. This position will provide professional guidance regarding the conduct/flow of the research projects and is critical in the design of research processes. This position will also provide specialized guidance in data collection/measurement and in conducting dietary assessments in children and adults using their expertise in NDS-R software and anthropometry. In addition, they will supervise intervention staff who will engage in health behavior change techniques (i.e., Motivational Interviewing).
Key Responsibilities:
30% - Project Management
- Oversee all aspects of four multi-site research studies in coordination with the Principal Investigator and partner institutions (University of Minnesota and University of Georgia), including planning, protocol development, budget oversight, and timeline management.
- Develop and maintain study protocols, intervention materials, and data collection tools to ensure consistency across sites.
- Align project schedules with key milestones, including ClinicalTrials.gov registration and COMIRB requirements.
- Design and implement systems to manage data collection, retention, and intervention delivery within budget and deadlines.
- Lead participant incentive distribution and serve as the primary contact for gift card system issues.
- Facilitate communication among internal team members and external collaborators across multiple sites.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and clinical sites to support participant recruitment and retention nationwide.
20% - Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
- Develop program goals and align them with institutional priorities and sponsor expectations.
- Participate in tactical and strategic program/project development and planning
- Participate in grant writing, budget development, and financial oversight.
- Support community engagement and outreach initiatives.
20% - Team Supervision
- Oversee hiring, training, supervising, and performance evaluations for two large research teams, including staff, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows
- Oversee daily team operations, manage workloads, and provide informal leadership and mentorship.
- Identify training needs and coordinate certification and re-certification on study procedures.
- Supervise and mentor data collection staff, providing training and performance feedback.
- Supervise and mentor community health worker staff, providing training and performance feedback.
20% - Data Management & Monitoring
- Serve as the study expert on measurement protocols, including anthropometry and dietary assessment.
- Develop dietary assessment protocols, train staff in NDS-R software, and establish best practices for objective measures such as video-recorded meals and ecological momentary assessment tools.
- Implement and enforce protocols to protect the confidentiality of human subject data.
- Maintain and update study databases; perform weekly data quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage logistics for biological sample transfers between study sites.
10% - Regulatory Compliance & Dissemination
- Ensure adherence to COMIRB, NIH, and institutional regulations; train staff on GCP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support IRB submissions, including study materials updates, continuing reviews, and adverse event reporting.
- Support NIH regulatory requirements including RPPR submissions.
- Oversee dissemination plans for all research studies, including presentations, publications, and stakeholder engagement.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
- 4-6 years of professional experience in research
- Licensed Psychologist in Colorado
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in public health or similar field
- Experience supervising a large team, including being responsible for hiring, directing work, performance reviews, etc.
- Experience as a program manager over both epidemiological observational studies and RCT/intervention studies and multi-site study coordination
- Expertise in the area of child feeding practices, childhood obesity, family cardiometabolic risk/health factors and mixed-methodologies, including experience collecting biological measurements
- Experience with NIH systems (eracommons) and submitting Research Participant Progress Reports (RPPR)
- Experience managing regulatory requirements related to human subjects research, including experience coordinating a DSMB committee and meetings
- Proficiency in REDCap data management system, including creating and designing projects using piping and branching logic, developing and troubleshooting alerts and notifications, using the multi-language tool, etc.
- Experience with Health Behavior Change Techniques (i.e., Motivational Interviewing) and experience and training in supervision of behavioral health trainees and community health workers
- Extensive record of academic publications, including as a first author
- Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team and using community-based participatory research approaches
- Experience designing and using digital health technology in observational studies and intervention studies with diverse participants (e.g., Mosio, ecological momentary assessment/intervention, Smartsheets, web-based mHealth)

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $69,209 - $88,034
