College/Department Information

The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center is the single largest investment in a cybersecurity facility in the nation to date. The $100 million facility will help to fill the current and growing shortage of cybersecurity talent in the state and nation. The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center represents a unique public/private partnership that includes Augusta University, Augusta Technical College, the University System of Georgia's research institutions, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and other state, federal, and private-sector partners working together to meet this workforce demand and to innovate, train, and strengthen defenses.

The state-of-the-art Center is located in the growing cybersecurity corridor in Augusta, Georgia, that is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command and Cyber School of Excellence at Fort Gordon. The Center is located on the downtown campus of Augusta University and houses the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant 3 position will provide high level administrative support to the Executive Director of the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center. The position will work collaboratively and demonstrate a high level of professionalism as they effectively interact with executive level staff, external constituents, and all levels in the organization. The position will provide a variety of administrative support functions and will embrace the unit goals, standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Provide advanced administrative support to the Executive Director (ED) of the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center (GCITC), to include making and receiving phone calls, participating in planning agendas, coordinating and arranging meetings, scheduling, and maintaining documentation. Prioritize conflicting needs and use professional judgement to handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and assist Executive Director with follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

HUMAN RESOURCES SUPPORT: Assist the Business Operations Director with Human Resource support functions for GCITC. Work with Directors to update job descriptions as necessary. Participate in the recruitment process for all positions, to include scheduling interviews, preparing and maintaining interview questions & documentation, submitting information in OneUSG, and working with HR on job offers. Facilitate the hiring of Skillbridge interns for the ED and team. Facilitate approvals for Director level leave requests and coordinate approval of all time in OneUSG.

KNOWLEDGE: Assist the Executive Director with strategy development and implementation. Maintain an extensive knowledge base of the vision, mission, and strategic goals to help ensure the GCITC stays on track to accomplishing their stated goals. Assist ED with updating documentation as necessary, collecting updates from Directors, and sharing updated information as appropriate. Gather information from Directors and compile the Executive Summaries for the Center, as appropriate.

TRAVEL: Prepare travel authorizations, arrange complex and detailed travel arrangements and itineraries for the Executive Director. Compile documents necessary for travel-related meetings, track reimbursements, and ensure comprehensive travel records are maintained in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures. Assist other GCITC teammates with travel requirements, as required.

OTHER: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of progressively responsible administrative support experience

OR

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of directly applicable experience

OR

High school diploma or GED from a State or Federal accrediting organization and eight years of directly applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience working in a high-level administrative support capacity

Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) Certification

Experience with Human Resources functions and processes

Experience with Airtable or other data management software platforms

Familiarity with strategy development and implementation





Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
