Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Supports the planning and execution of operational, compliance, and financial audits and assists with special projects and investigations.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Under direct supervision, plans and conducts audits and special projects
2. Prepares work papers in accordance with International Standards of Institute of Internal Auditors and KSU departmental policy and assists in drafting and finalizing audit reports
3. Assists in developing test procedures and audit programs to verify compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
4. Documents audit work (narratives, process flows, etc.) to capture procedures performed, support conclusions reached, and identify internal controls and control weaknesses
5. Researches and interprets policies of KSU, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, other state agencies, the federal government, and other agencies to determine applicability
6. Communicates to the Internal Audit Division (IAD) the progress of audits, investigations, and projects and report any deviation(s) from the established protocol or timeline
7. Assists in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of management action plan responses
8. Assists with presentations to clients and University stakeholders
9. Contributes to IAD initiatives, such as training, professional development, and other projects, as requested
10. Assists with the annual risk assessment and audit plan development process

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field

Required Experience
Two (2) years of related auditing (internal or external), investigation, or compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CFE, CIA, and/or CISA certification(s)
Skilled in Data Analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, IDEA, and/or ACL

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Experience in public accounting, higher education, and/or government

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $67,340 to $83,400. Offers are based on relevant experience.
