Description:
The School of Music at Baylor University seeks an engaging and collaborative educator who can excel at teaching undergraduate and graduate voice students. This full-time, tenure-track appointment will begin August 2026.

Appointment Date: August 2026

Responsibilities:
  • Teach applied voice at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Teach allied courses such as Song Literature, Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, or other subjects as assigned
  • Maintain an active performance profile on and off campus
  • Participate actively in Vocal Studies recruiting efforts and auditions
  • Participate in School of Music and University service as appropriate
  • Engage in significant professional and creative activities and/or research within the discipline, and contribute to the intellectual life and mission of Baylor University and the School of Music

RANK AND SALARY
  • Full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor
  • Rank and salary competitive and commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
  • Master of Music degree required; Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience as a studio voice teacher at the collegiate level is required.
  • Record of distinguished vocal performance on a national and/or international level is required.
  • All School of Music faculty are expected to demonstrate commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for our students.

  • Link to a 30-minute video of voice teaching, ideally with a college-aged student, including vocalizing and repertoire work
  • Links to recent performance videos featuring a variety of repertoire and totaling about 20 minutes in length
  • Complete contact information (address, phone, and email) for three professional references - please note that three recommendation letters may later be requested from candidates who advance to the video interview phase.
