Position Announcement
Utah Valley University invites applicants for the role of Business Analysis Lecturer, where you will join a collaborative academic community dedicated to student success and innovation. In this position, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver engaging undergraduate courses in business analysis and data analytics, contribute to curriculum development, and support experiential learning opportunities such as practicums and internships. You will also participate in scholarly and creative endeavors, serve on university committees, and play a key role in advancing both departmental and institutional goals. Summary of Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and teach courses and deliver content using meaningful and engaging methods with measurable course objectives
- Teach, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in a classroom setting via demonstrations, discussion, experiential learning activities, and visual aids
- Provide evaluation of learning through written and performance tests. Hold regular office hours and maintain a student-oriented approach to education
- Serves the department (Strategic Management & Operations), school (WSB) by attending meetings and participating in department or WSB activities
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master's degree or above plus two years of experience in a related discipline. Understanding of analytics in a business environment.
Must be proficient in working with the following:
- Excel (Expert Certification or proof of proficiency)
- Tableau
- AI Prompt Engineering for Data Analytics
- Using and teaching AI
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrate successful teaching at the college or university level in several modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, live streaming, and online teaching which may include video broadcasting and recording
- Knowledge of Power BI, Python, R, or related software
- Proficient in analyzing large data sets and creating data visualizations
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of data visualization and statistical analysis concepts.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in artificial intelligence and data analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Expert Certification or equivalent proof of proficiency).
- Skilled in Tableau for data visualization and dashboard creation.
- Competence in AI prompt engineering for data analytics applications.
- Ability to effectively use and teach AI tools and techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skill in developing instructional materials and delivering engaging presentations.
- Ability to successfully teach at the college/university level across multiple modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, live streaming, online, video broadcasting, and recording).
- Ability to work with Power BI, Python, R, or similar software tools for advanced data analytics.
- Capacity to analyze large and complex data sets, identifying trends and insights.
- Ability to design and create compelling data visualizations that support decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI into teaching and professional practice.
- Ability to adapt teaching and analytical methods to diverse learners and organizational needs.
