Job Summary
The RAP Lab within the School of Education seeks a dynamic, creative, and equity-minded PostDoctoral Researcher to collaborate on cutting-edge research at the intersection of arts, culture, education, and technology. The postdoc will work closely with the Principal Investigator and a team of artists, educators, and technologists to design, implement, and study sociotechnical infrastructures that foster storytelling, historical preservation, and consciousness-raising in historically marginalized communities. The position combines scholarly research, community-based design, and arts-integrated educational practice. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Research Design, Implementation, and Analysis
- Co-develop and carry out mixed-methods studies (design-based research, ethnography, archival work) in alignment with RAP Lab projects.
- Lead data collection, coding, and analysis, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Collaborate with artists, educators, and youth to design and test community-based arts and technology interventions.
- Support production of creative artifacts (music, media, exhibitions) as part of research outputs.
- Lead and co-author peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, and public scholarship pieces.
- Contribute to community-facing reports, exhibitions, and digital platforms.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with educational institutions.
- Coordinate with community partners, school sites, and collaborating institutions.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate research assistants.
- Support skill-building workshops for community participants.

The salary for this position is $1,451.25/month for 25% time.

What We Require
- Ph.D. in Education, Sociology, Anthropology, Ethnomusicology, Cultural Studies, or related field by the start date.
- Experience with qualitative research methods (e.g., ethnography, case study, design-based research).
- Demonstrated ability to publish in scholarly venues.
