The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CVEEN) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an engaging, self-starting individual who can provide a wide range of administrative support to faculty, staff and students. The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented, organized, and be able to think quickly on their feet.

Responsibilities
This position is designed to assist the department management with daily operation support and projects that are administration focused. The following are immediate tasks that the role will take on:
1. Front office oversight including, but not limited to, receive and direct visitors; maintain front office area; oversees general department email address; distributes mail and packages.2. Assist Department Chairman with their schedule including keeping them on task and coordinating any signatures.3. Manages department spaces (conference rooms, lecture hall) for approvals and accesses.4. Assists the administrative team with meetings, events and visitors.5. Oversee department supplies including ordering and distribution.
6. Assist students and faculty in coordinating maintenance needs with labs and offices. 7. Process department access requests and maintains department auditing requirements.8. Support department with reimbursement processing including, but not limited to, reimbursements, travel, PCard, and Fellowships.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in business or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.

Work Schedule Summary: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. The office is closed during lunch 12-1pm daily.This position is community facing and it is expected to be in the office daily. As additional duties are added for projects that allow working from home discussion for adding one day working from home can occur.
