We invite applications for the position of Research Fellow to contribute to directing and overseeing the work of a major NIH funded clinical trial. The grant, titled "Can A Youth Leadership and Mindfulness Program Support Well-being in Adolescence?" compares a leadership and mindfulness program to a college and career readiness program, at sites in Boston and Chicago. This Research Fellow position will be in-person at the Boston site.
The Research Fellow will oversee the delivery of the college and career readiness program and will be on-site at one of the project's Boston locations during afterschool program delivery hours. In these roles, they will take part in the preparation of key materials, interview guides, manuals and resources for the project, including overseeing training and supervision for facilitators. They will play a key role in participant recruitment, consent, and data collection, including conducting qualitative interviews with youth and observing program implementation.
Some work will occur during afterschool and weekend hours, as well as on-site at locations in Boston, with the possibility of travel to Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare key intervention materials, interview guides, manuals, and resources for the project.
- Coordinate training and supervision for facilitators.
- Participate in the recruitment, consent, and data collection process for youth and families.
- Conduct qualitative interviews with youth and group facilitators.
- Conduct structured observations of intervention group sessions (both live and by reviewing audio recordings).
- Be the main point of contact with the IRBs, to ensure that all materials are approved and up to date.
- Be present on-site to support facilitators and oversee program delivery.
- Manage daily activities of the project, including implementation of study activities, and partnerships with community partners.
- Send out meeting requests and reminders, organize documents and materials, maintain project task lists and document task completion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Detail oriented self-starter with excellent organizational and communications skills.
- Experience in a research setting.
- Experience working with groups of adolescents, particularly in a teaching, afterschool program, or clinical role.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
