The Office of Scholarship Services at CU Boulder invites applications for a Scholarship Services Student Advising & Programming Specialist! The Office of Scholarship Services, within the Division of Enrollment Management, plays a key role in advancing student access and success through intentional outreach, education, and collaboration. This full-time professional position reports to the Assistant Director of Advising and Partnerships and plays a key role in supporting prospective student campus visits by delivering clear, engaging scholarship services information. This position supports the planning and execution of impactful campus visit experiences, scholarship presentations, and cross-departmental initiatives that connect students and families with essential scholarship resources. The successful candidate will coordinate and present at on-campus prospective student events, partner with campus offices to ensure aligned messaging, and be responsible for a team of student workers who support outreach and engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a dynamic communicator with a strong understanding of financial aid and scholarships, a commitment to access, and experience building meaningful cross-campus relationships. Who We Are
The Office of Scholarship Services is a unit within the Student Financial Services Division of Enrollment Management, working alongside the Office of Financial Aid, and the Bursar's Office. Our team is responsible for optimizing scholarship resources to enhance affordability and equity for our student population. We work with campus partners and external partners to ensure compliance with scholarship donor intent. We are dedicated to increasing access to higher education and recognizing scholarly merit by facilitating the awarding of scholarships from over 1,100 unique funds. By collaborating with campus and external partners, we empower students to reach their fullest potential as part of the CU community.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Campus Visit Coordination and Scholarship Presentations
- Collaborate with the Enrollment Management Visitor Experience team in the planning and delivery of high-impact financial aid and scholarship presentations for prospective students, families, and community partners.
- Represent Scholarship Services at various campus events and outreach activities, including information sessions, tours, and admitted student programs, occasionally during evenings and weekends.
- Collaborate with the Enrollment Management marketing and communications team to develop and maintain engaging, student-centered presentation content tailored to a variety of audiences, including first-generation and underrepresented students.
- Coordinate closely with the Campus Visitor Experience team and campus partners to integrate student financial services messaging into the broader campus visit experience.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with departments across campus.
- Collaborate on the development and execution of joint outreach campaigns, scholarship awareness initiatives, and high-impact programming.
- Serve as the Scholarship Services liaison in cross-functional planning committees and working groups related to recruitment, retention, and access.
- Provide high-quality, student centered, individualized advising and support to prospective and current students and families.
- Deliver clear, accessible information about scholarships and financial aid policies through both one-on-one and group interactions.
- Maintain a strong customer service approach, ensuring all current and prospective students receive timely, accurate, and welcoming support.
- Respond to high-volume inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of student workers who assist with scholarship presentations, event logistics, and visitor engagement.
- Provide ongoing coaching and leadership to ensure student workers are prepared to represent Scholarship Services professionally and knowledgeably.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages leadership development and service excellence among student employees.
- Evaluate outreach and presentation effectiveness through participant feedback and data collection.
- Collaborate with the EM Marketing and Communication team to update presentation materials, handouts, and online resources based on changing regulations and student needs.
- Ensure all outreach content aligns with institutional goals and compliance standards in collaboration with the EM Marketing and Communication team.
- Stay current on financial aid regulations, scholarship trends, and standard processes in student engagement and campus visits.
- Actively participate in internal and external trainings, conferences, and campus initiatives.
- Contribute to Enrollment Management's strategic priorities through involvement in planning and assessment efforts.

What We Can Offer
- The annual salary for this position is $54,500 - $57,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; an equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in higher education, financial aid, admissions, student services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering presentations, leading workshops, or facilitating group discussions for diverse audiences.
- Experience providing customer service to students and families in a professional setting. Ability to work evenings and weekends for recruitment events and campus visit programming.
What You Will Need
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of scholarship and/or financial aid policies, including federal Title IV regulations and state or institutional aid programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain cross-functional partnerships within a college or university setting.
