Student Life Technology Solutions within the Division of Student Life encourages applications for an AV Administrator! This role is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of a variety of Audio Visual (AV) systems and digital signage across Student Life facilities. This environment includes projectors, sound systems, video flat panels, AV room management, and digital sign hardware management. This position is an expert in the areas of AV system configuration, programming, installation, troubleshooting, testing, standard processes, and is also familiar with content management solutions. This position requires regular interaction with customers and provides a high level of customer service through prompt and professional interactions.

Student Life Technology Solutions provides technology leadership and support to the Division of Student Life. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


AV Administration and Support
  • Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for all AV and digital signage equipment deployed across the Division of Student Life.
  • Oversees design, maintenance, and deployment of AV systems, including configuration, support, and training.
  • Ensure all AV installations follow the industry's standard methodologies.
  • Actively engages with other campus AV organizations to ensure interoperability, share standard processes, and alignment on technology and support strategies.
  • Deploys hardware/software based on established configurations, ensuring proper network, security, and system settings.
  • Delivers excellent customer service; uses tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Beyond Trust for issue tracking and support coordination.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop and implement audio, video, and data conferencing solutions.
  • Proposes innovative solutions to improve AV service quality and reliability.
  • Advises customers on equipment needs for a range of events, including videoconferencing setups of varying complexity.
  • Research new technologies to enhance AV service delivery.
  • Tracks the lifecycle of AV and digital signage equipment, proactively identifying aging or unsupported technologies, and plans for timely replacements or upgrades to maintain service quality while minimizing downtime.
  • Serves as departmental subject matter authority for AV and digital signage systems in capital projects.
  • Safeguards all data and configurations from unauthorized modification or access.
  • Collaborate with the Student Life Technology Solutions team to deliver division-wide technology services.
  • May require work during evenings/weekends for emergency response or high-priority issues.

Digital Signage Service Deployment and Hardware Support
  • Deploys and maintains digital signage hardware, ensuring functionality and uptime.
  • Coordinates with Student Life Communications and Marketing to manage digital signage content systems.
  • Installs, upgrades, repairs, and supports signage equipment to ensure consistent system availability.
  • Uses remote tools to monitor signage performance and adjust settings.
  • Ensures compliance with accessibility Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Engages building proctors or Facilities Management for equipment installation services when applicable, ensuring compliance with campus building standards.
  • Provides user training on digital signage hardware and software.
  • Schedules system deployment and decommissioning of outbound technologies.
  • Recommend improvements for signage efficiency, configuration, and user engagement.

A/V Support, Training, Documentation, and In-Person
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation related to AV systems, digital signage, deployments, support procedures, maintenance schedules, and training materials.
  • Creates and manages Confluence pages and knowledge bases (e.g., for SLTS Support Desk) to standardize support, maintenance, and training practices.
  • Provides system setup guides, troubleshooting documentation, and procedural references for both end users and IT staff.
  • Communicates project updates and operational changes clearly to management and location collaborators.
  • Identify and pursue training opportunities for Crestron and other supported AV devices, ensuring current technical proficiency.
  • Conducts system testing and assessments to ensure optimal functionality and sustainable performance.
  • Prioritizes and manages concurrent projects to meet critical due dates.
  • Provides in-person support for high-profile or complex events and presentations.
  • May be required to operate university vehicles for on-site AV support or equipment transportation.

Support for Student Life Technology Solutions and Tickets
  • Participate in group deployments, upgrades, and general team initiatives as an active member of the SLTS team.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to desktop support and general IT issues based on availability and location.
  • Provides backfill support for team roles during staff absences or position vacancies to ensure continuity of service.
  • Participates in SLTS team meetings and stays aware of campus initiatives.
  • Communicates changes, status updates, and issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Reviews and suggests improvements for existing support and technical operations processes.
  • Assist with user provisioning, workstation setups, and desktop support tasks.


What You Should Know


This is an on-campus position. The work schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and adjusts to summer hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an information technology-related or business field.
  • Experience in an information technology-related field may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IT users in maintenance and repair services and in a large corporate environment, with over 100 users.
  • 1+ year of experience working with AV equipment setup and maintenance, and/or classes or training with AV production or digital video production.
  • 1+ year of experience in building and deploying digital signage
  • 1+ year experience working with networking and network cabling.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a current, valid state of Colorado driver's license.


What You Will Need

  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Significant technical skill and knowledge about installing and maintaining AV systems for meeting spaces.
  • Expertise with Crestron or similar software.
  • Digital signage deployment and management experience.
  • Ability to support system configurations and independently handle hardware and software upgrades and vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical staff.
