Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of University Conference Services, the Production Services Manager is responsible for the University's external rental program for film, television, and commercial photography productions.
This role serves as a key point of contact for production companies and plays a critical role in enhancing institutional revenue by attracting and managing high-profile media projects from major studios and networks.
Serving as the liaison for production companies and external clients, the Manager ensures professional execution of on-campus shoots. This role requires strong client service skills, logistical expertise, and understanding of the unique needs of the film and photography industries. The Manager also collaborates with internal stakeholders to balance commercial use with academic priorities and institutional goals.
This position requires travel between campuses and a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak seasons are required.
Essential Functions
Leads all aspects of film and photo shoot coordination on campus, from initial inquiry through wrap, including campus scouting, scheduling, and permitting for all campuses.
Provides on-site support for all shoots, working closely with production teams to ensure readiness and address logistical needs.
Develops and executes a strategic outreach plan to increase bookings for film and photo shoots.
Cultivates relationships with location scouts, production companies, studios, and agencies to position the university as a film-friendly destination.
Serves as the primary liaison between external production entities and University departments (Facilities and Campus Operations, Public Safety, Athletics, and other departments) to ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Negotiates contracts and rental agreements, ensuring terms align with University standards and revenue goals.
Oversees invoicing, payment tracking, and insurance compliance for all production activities.
Negotiates production schedules to minimize disruption to campus operations.
Responds quickly to client needs and last-minute changes with flexibility and professionalism.
Provides team support and coverage for internal and external client events, including summer conferences during the low peak season.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in film/photo shoots.
Strong understanding of production workflows, permitting, insurance requirements, and client expectations in the film/TV/commercial industry.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Sales-oriented mindset with a proven track record of increasing revenue.
