Job Summary


The Positive Emotion and Psychopathology Lab (PI: Gruber) is seeking a part-time hourly position for a research coordinator. The position will oversee project coordination on an NIH-funded project examining emotion and mental health in young adults and community samples with mood difficulties. NOTE: This is an in-person (not remote or hybrid) work position and involves community participant testing and coordinating research sessions that require availability outside of traditional weekday hours to meet participant needs and run testing sessions (e.g., evenings or weekends).

Who We Are

The Positive Emotion and Psychopathology Lab (www.gruberpeplab.com) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers and students under the directorship of Dr. June Gruber who work together towards understanding positive emotional processes and their relevance for understanding adaptive and maladaptive relevant psychological-health outcomes. Our research uses a multi-modal affective science approach to understand positive emotion and reward-related difficulties in psychopathology. Her work examines perturbations in positive valence systems in clinical populations characterized by positive emotion difficulties (e.g., bipolar disorder and depression) as well as across other clinical phenomenon and in healthy community samples of adults. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Primary Duties: Assist with data collection for MRI/fMRI task in young adults at risk for or diagnosed with mood difficulties (in person), with flexibility for weekend and evening times. Secondary Duties (pending time) may include: assisting with recruitment, screening and schedule study participants; creating, managing, and maintaining multiple databases (e.g., participant tracking, data (SPSS, R, Excel), follow-up using Qualtrics, RedCap and/or FileMaker).




What We Can Offer

The hiring rate for this position is $20.00 per hour, with anticipated hours to work per week: 10 hours.

What We Require

  • B.A., B.S., or master's degree in psychology or related field.


What You Will Need

  • Prior clinical psychology or neuroscience research lab experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
