The Academic Programs Administrator is primarily responsible for managing processes related to course scheduling and staffing for Metropolitan colleges as well as various operational functions of the Dean's Office of MET. Working in collaboration with the Manager of Academic Programs, the core responsibilities include:
- Serving as the project lead for scheduling and staffing of over 400 course sections each semester in collaboration with multiple academic departments.
- Maintaining the MET academic schedule and course inventories in BU systems.
- Scheduling classrooms and MET proprietary spaces.
- Managing the set-up and administration of course evaluations.
- Assisting with part-time faculty onboarding, contracting, and data and resource management.
- Ensuring MET programs are operating consistently with academic and administrative policies of the University. The Academic Programs Administrator also works in collaboration with the Dean's Office team to manage communication to and from the MET Deans Office via a general email inbox, phone lines, and the reception desk. They generate email communications to faculty and the MET community and occasionally manage the scheduling and set up of meetings for the deans, chairs, and directors.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of related experience required - MS Office proficiency. The ideal candidate requires the ability to understand, analyze, and transfer data between systems with exceptional attention to detail, recognizing anomalies and applying updates methodically; the ability juggle multiple competing tasks with flexibility as priorities arise; a professional demeanor with the ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels internal and external to the department; readiness to take on responsibility and willingness to pitch in and help others; and strong computer skills especially in Microsoft Outlook & Excel.
