Job Title:

Job Summary:
Established in 2023, The Ann Getty Institute of Art and Design (AGI) is an interdisciplinary center of experiential learning and innovation in the arts. It champions visual and performing artists, designers and architects, writers and filmmakers, and arts and museum scholars, as they hone their craft. Bringing together the power of the arts and a Jesuit, liberal arts education, the institute expands and links the University of San Francisco's arts programs, spaces, and scholarships. Its goal is to nurture art across disciplines to create projects that support communities, transform lives, and inspire action for the common good.

Under the general supervision of the Provost's Office with management by the Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities, and in conjunction with the Ann Getty Institute of Art and Design Board, the Program Manager will have primary responsibility for overseeing AGI, serving and promoting the academic fields of architecture, art history, creative writing, dance, design, film studies, fine arts, museum studies, and theater.

This is a full-time position. The Program Manager is required to work in person at USF's Hilltop campus in San Francisco (2130 Fulton Street, San Francisco), with the option to work 1-2 days remotely per week per approval of supervisor; some night and weekend work is required.

Full Job Description:
  • Develop and implement a marketing and business plan for AGI-sponsored events and all performing arts productions, in conjunction with the programs, College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office, the AGI Board, and all relevant stakeholders.

  • Work with Development, Alumni Relations, Deans and Provost's Offices, in conjunction with the AGI Board, to develop a short and long term fundraising plan.
  • Manage and support the annual application for the Ann Getty Visiting Artist-Scholars as well as oversee their onboarding and support their needs during their residency.
  • Manage and support the annual application process for Ann Getty Institute Student Scholarships (working with Admissions and Financial Aid), and oversee public presentations and promotional materials featuring their work.
  • Lead AGI Board meetings.
  • Respond to requests for information from prospective students, media, and potential donors.
  • Manage and track budgets.
  • With Production Manager, schedule and support production meetings for public events.
  • With Chair and Production Manager, initiate job listings for key contractor hires, schedule interviews, and oversee the onboarding process.
  • Hire, onboard, and supervise all student workers for assistance with graphics, marketing, and social media, in coordination with the program assistant.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports, analysis, and insight to the Provost's Office, the Dean's Office and the AGI Board.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or professional experience in academic administration, marketing, and project management preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in events management and arts marketing, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to function in a leadership capacity; working collaboratively with faculty and staff, with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy in establishing priorities, making decisions, and carrying through tasks on deadline.
