Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Special Events Associate. This position plays a key role during the first 10 days of the academic term and throughout the home football season. The ideal candidate is adaptable, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about providing excellent service to students and fans alike.

Responsibilities
During the Start of the Academic Term (First 10 Days):

Assist students at the Course Materials Counter with locating and understanding their required textbooks and materials.
Support the processing, packaging, and distribution of online textbook orders.
Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions and resolving issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.

During Football Season:

Work every home football game at the stadium concessions.
Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards.
Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
Restock inventory and maintain cleanliness at the concession stand.
Deliver a positive fan experience through excellent service and teamwork.

Training & Scheduling:

Training will begin upon hire and continue through the start of the fall term.
The majority of scheduled hours will occur from late July through mid-August.
After the initial training period, associates may pick up open shifts and will be utilized as prep staff to help prepare for home football games.

Minimum Qualifications
One year customer service or related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills; and basic computer skills required.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Must be available to work the first 10 days of the academic term and all home football games.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Previous retail or food service experience is a plus, but not required.
