Job Description:
Job Title: Assistant Director
Office/Location: SUNY Fredonia
Job Summary:This position will support Fredonia's Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP & C/STEP). Fredonia's STEP & C/STEP Programs work with 10 school districts across the region supporting approximately 300 students.
This programs goal is to increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students who are preparing to enter college 7 pursue professional licensure by improving their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions. STEP & C/STEP provides academic enrichment in science and mathematics content areas.
Projects consist of academic year and summer components including:
- Core subject instruction/Regentsexam preparation
- Supervised practical training
- Supervised research training
- College admissions counseling
- Standardized tests preparation
- Career awareness/development activities
Job Duties:
- Coordinate and collaborate with participating school districts, faculty, staff, parents and students for C/STEP services and events
- Collaborate with colleges, other outside organizations, and government officials to promote C/STEP and/or plan events
- Attends regional meetings and professional development sessions
- Facilitate professional learning 7 development for faculty, staff, and students
- Oversee enrollment and attendance processes/systems
- Coordinate and attend various recruiting events to promote the program
- Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Develop a social media strategy & maintain website
- Establish and manage data collection systems to improve programs efficiencies
- Attend events scheduled for evenings and/or weekends
Requirements:
Required Education/Qualifications:
- BS/BA in education or related fields such as school counseling, social work, etc. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
Preferred Education/Qualifications:
- Experience working in a school setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications
- Organized - Operates with developing efficient systems and using established systems
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient data entry skills
- Effective event planning skills
- Experience managing contracts, requisitions, and invoices
Salary:The annual compensation for this role is between$50,000 to $56,000. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, training, and certifications.
