Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President for Mission Integration and Ministry, the Senior Advisor to the Vice President directs all essential functions of the Vice President's office in support of the strategic goals of the Mission office. This position manages all correspondence, communications, budgets and projects spearheaded by the Vice President to ensure the success of the work of the Mission office. This position requires minimal travel and some evening and weekend hours.



Essential Functions

  • Provides high-level administrative support to the Vice President of Mission Integration and Ministry, assisting with operational, policy, personnel, and strategic matters.

  • Manages departmental and divisional finances, including budget preparation, financial reporting, expenditure monitoring, and other logistical support.

  • Coordinates with divisional directors, staff, and members of the President's office to ensure smooth operations and address business needs.

  • Oversees internal communications related to the division's mission, engaging the Fordham community and key external stakeholders.

  • Organizes and manages division-related events, including logistics, strategic planning, and implementation.

  • Liaises with donors and collaborates with Development and University Relations to support stewardship and fundraising efforts.

  • Supports the Board of Trustees' Mission and Social Justice Committee, including preparation of materials, meeting coordination, strategic advising, and minute-taking.

  • Implements mission-related assessment and evaluation processes, such as the Mission Priority Examen.

Management Responsibilities

Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.



Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Minimum of five years of administrative support experience, including support to senior-level positions.




Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness and ability to learn and use new technological applications, as required, including financial management software.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform key financial management functions.

  • Extremely well organized, extraordinary attention to detail, and the ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and with professionalism in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.

  • High level of discretion and judgement, particularly with confidential information.

  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education




Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with and commitment to the Jesuit educational mission.

  • Valid US Driver's License.




Minimum Starting Salary: $80,000



Maximum Starting Salary: $87,000



Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
