Job Summary
The Leeds School of Business encourages applications for a Program Manager! This position works closely with the Director of the Opening Doors to Achievement (ODA) Office. The key responsibilities include: managing programs for belonging, large-scale events, and a student caseload within the Diverse Scholars Program (DSP); supervising and developing appropriate interventions for DSP retention; and monitoring, evaluating and developing program curriculum to assist in successful student transitions. This person must be familiar with university policies, procedures, and codes of ethics related to budgetary use, program development, corporate and donor outreach, and other related processes.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Program Management
- Manage DSP Retreat- develop schedule and manage logistics, establish and maintain relationships with site providers, create and deliver a welcome to include expectations, rules and goals, create activities centered on student leadership development, cohort development and community support, academic success, diversity awareness and conflict facilitation, train peer mentors to facilitate appropriate retreat activities.
- Organize and manage DSP Peer Mentoring Program- create networking events for pre-matching process, create and manage monthly goals and supervise participation through Chronus, create and implement mentor and mentee trainings, create activities for participants, and evaluate program.
- Plan and implement accounting and finance boot camps- secure instructors and hiring process, create evaluation tool for boot camps, communicate and disseminate information to attendees, and track participation.
- Manage new DSP membership- update and disseminate application, lead selection process, deliver onboarding presentations, and create welcome events.
- Responsible for the planning of large community events: DSP Town Halls and Community Building Activities, and ODA Annual Awards Banquet.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of the Women in Business Case Competition (WIBCC); monitoring and evaluating all activities; implementing all policies directed by Youth Programs; recruit, select, train, and supervise WIBCC student team leaders; provide support for student leaders for managing student conflict and the mental well-being of participants; update and manage the application system; recruit, select, and orient WIBCC participants; and organize corporate partner involvement.
- Manage the continuous evaluation of programs and services provided by the ODA. Specific outcomes include program enrollment, student retention, graduation rates, and placement rates (and other learning outcomes associated with ODA program goals).
Caseload Management
- Conduct and manage supplemental advising for Diverse Scholars Program (DSP) participants.
- Collaborate with undergraduate programs and corporate partners on student development outcomes; monitor, evaluate, and improve the DSP support system as it relates to student academic and career paths.
- Provide leadership in the creation and management of internal (on-campus) and external (off-campus) academic and informational activities as necessary.
Administrative Leadership
- Monitor the quality of student staff projects.
- Contribute to setting policies, coordinating major initiatives (retention, alumni & corporate relations), managing personnel and staff development and supervision of student employees.
- Position should have in-depth knowledge of working with undergraduate students. Particularly traditionally underserved and under-represented populations. Areas of discretion would include developing relationships with other Leeds offices, faculty, and students on a professional level. Position is expected to work well in teams and independently; must be comfortable interpreting data; must be compassionate regarding student issues, and understand how to lead by example. This person is key in establishing relationships with students, and directly impacts student satisfaction for not only the ODA, but for the Leeds School of Business.
What You Should Know
- Monday-Friday, approximate schedule of 8 am-5 pm. This position is a hybrid work modality, with two work-from-home days per week. Multiple evenings and weekend days will be required throughout the year (approximately 10-15 times per year) with advance notice.
What We Can Offer
$61,200 - $65,000. Relocation assistance may be available within Leeds guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in the field of student development or student services.
- Experience working with traditionally underrepresented or underserved students, in a higher education setting or in a professional field, which would include experience with student program planning and implementation or community outreach.
