Position Summary
The Specialist-Process Improvement/Change Management reports to the Director, Change Management, with a dotted line to the Process Improvement Lead.
They will apply change management processes and tools to create a strategy to support the adoption of technology changes required by a project or initiative; conduct impact analyses and identify key stakeholders; support the design, development, and delivery of communications and training. They will identify, analyze, and improve upon existing business processes within the organization for optimization and meet new standards of quality and efficiency.
Essential Functions
Process Improvement
- Serves as the IT liaison with project owners, subject matter and technical experts, and other stakeholders for the analyses of business processes
- Facilitates the documentation and mapping of existing processes to be improved and future designs
- Works closely with the Business Analysis team to better understand project requirements and with the Change Management team to ensure that process improvements are incorporated into project deployment
Change Management
- Assists in analyzing change impact and stakeholder attributes
- Assists in creating change management plans, including communication, training, and deployment
- Assists in executing deployment plans and helping with early adopter activities
- Co-develops training documentation and materials with the project sponsor or subject matter expert
- Facilitates train the trainer workshops in tandem with the Process Improvement team to incorporate new processes into change management strategies
General Specialist Functions
- Focus is on resolution of basic issues and problems within project scope or addressing specific business needs
- Performs detailed analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting using a variety of resources
- Provides customer service in a variety of technical areas
- Diagnoses basic problems and identifies potential solutions
- Plans own work schedule and priorities based on project plan, manger instructions, and expected outcomes
- May be responsible for accomplishing work through collaboration with team members and others
- Accurately applies University terminology and understands basic economics
- Understands the client's business model and articulates common decision-making processes within a business
- Creates design for technical requirements (e.g., gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and/or conversions)
- Identifies changes in requirements for own work and communicates appropriately
- Suggests solutions to engagement issues
- Applies quality assurance procedures and communicates opportunities to improve quality
- Contributes to the development of work plans for components of engagements
- Documents current IT projects and production support activities
- Documents existing processes, organization structures, and architectures
- Demonstrates understanding of transactions and major configuration options in a given area and a complementary functional area
Additional Functions
Information Technology Change Control
- As the backup chair for the IT Change Control Board, manages the approval process for changes to production IT services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or in lieu of degree 4+ years relevant experience
- 3+ years of organizational change management experience, introducing technologies into the organization
- Strong skills in the performance and supervision of the following:
- Specific application of concepts within area of technical expertise
- Analytical expectations and requirements in own specialization
- Attention to detail and quality
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Independent management of own workflow and work outcomes
- Diagnosing problems and determining whether to resolve or escalate
- Customer service
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty, and students
- Interaction and collaboration with vendors
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Change Management methodologies, such as Prosci or CCMP.
- Demonstrated understanding of Fordham's culture and environment, as well as the technical, business, and cultural environment of higher education in general
- Familiarity with teaching environment
Minimum Starting Salary: $84,000.00
Maximum Starting Salary: $105,000.00
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
