College/Department Information
The Augusta University Libraries lead the organization in providing comprehensive resources and services in support of the education, research and scholarship, clinical care, and outreach and economic development strategic focus areas of our research university and academic medical center.
Job Summary

The main purpose of this position is to perform Information Desk duties, stack maintenance, and other support tasks in Access Services.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide circulation and other access services to AU faculty, staff, students, and community users including:
Utilizing the integrated library system (ILS) to charge, discharge, and renew library materials with accuracy and efficiency; edit/create patron records; add barcodes to resources/patrons; and other ILS functions.
Provide accurate basic reference assistance at the Information Desk and logging results in RefAnalytics.
Retrieve library materials daily:
Shelve material according to call numbers without any errors.
Retrieve and re-shelve and loose library materials daily.
Shelf read for accuracy in assigned stack area as needed.
Shift materials as required
Perform afternoon responsibilities:
Provide guidance to student assistants and/or part-time workers and effectively maintain control of Access Services.
Assist Public Safety in a professional and timely fashion in the event of theft, and responsibly deal with emergency situations in the event that the Administrative Office is closed.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure provision of efficient library services and programming.

Required Qualifications
High School, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization; supplemented by previous library experience or general clerical/customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with library standards and procedures. Experience with ALMA (Library Automatic Software), GIL-Find Online Catalog, GIL Express, GALILEO.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Part-Time .49FTE (Approx. 19.60 hours per week) Mondays-Thursdays: 1pm-5pm; Fridays: 1:30pm-5pm

Pay Grade: 2

Salary: Minimum $10.94/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

GA Defined Contribution Plan
Participation in the Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is mandatory for part-time and temporary employees. The Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is a retirement plan for part-time employees who work less than 50% and for temporary employees. Members contribute 7 1/2% of gross salary to the plan.
