About the Position:
The Diversity Initiatives and Resource Center aims to create learning environments and opportunities that supports the University mission by preparing students to become socially conscious leaders in a global society. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Coordinator (Student Services Professional III). The ideal candidate in this role should a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Coordinator provides the overall administration and oversight of the Chicano/a Resource Center (CRC) at California State University, Fullerton. Under the general supervision of the Director of Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers (DIRC), the Coordinator will provide leadership and strategic planning for the CRC, which includes, but is not limited to, student staff supervision and development, coalition building with campus and community stakeholders, coordination and implementation of program and services, and the overall evaluation and assessment of signature programs sponsored by the CRC. In addition, the Coordinator will oversee the budget management for the CRC as well as daily operations. This position will develop a strategic plan to enhance the Titan Experience for Latino/a/x students through programs, services, advisement, and collaborations with campus stakeholders (e.g., Mesa Cooperativa, Latino/a/x and Chicano/a/x Students, Chicano/a Faculty & Staff Association, Ethnic Studies, etc.). The Coordinator will provide cultural competency workshops and facilitate identity development discussions to educate the campus community as well as address the intersectionality of identities within Latino/a/x students. This position will work collaboratively with a wide variety of administrative and academic departments across the university community as well as the different identity-based centers (African American Resource Center, Asian Pacific American Resource Center, Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Resource Center, and Titan Dreamers Resource Center) within DIRC to develop effective programs and services that complement the academic experience and engagement in high impact practices. As a team member within DIRC, the Coordinator is expected to assist with DIRC events as well as the other identity-based centers' large-scale events. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution plus three years of professional student services work in the field. A masters degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctoral degree from an accredited college or university and the appropriate internship or clinical training in a relevant field may be substituted for three years of the required professional experience.

Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to complete assignments without detailed instructions. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and the overall organization.

CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
