Job Summary:
Regular/contract instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the visions, missions and values of the college and District. This position may include a combination of day and evening assignments, large lectures and small seminars, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the "open door" concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

NQ 1: Experience and proficiency in teaching or training preferably at the college level, and in the computer field, using a variety of instructional methods.

NQ2: At least one of the following:

a. Modern Programming Languages and/or Web Development technologies: C++, Java, Python, SCADA controllers, PLC controllers, Arduino, Raspberry Pi

b. Robotic, Physical computing

c. Android IOS Application development

d. Systems Administration: Windows Server, Linux Server

e. Virtualization (VMWare)

f. Data Center (NAS, SAN)

g. Cybersecurity (OWASP)

h. Networking technologies and systems administration

i. Modern Database design and development (SQL, Oracle, MySQL or document/NoSQL)

j. Embedded systems, Internet of Things or related technologies

NQ 3: Written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff members, co-workers and corporate advisors.

NQ 4: Interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with students, co-workers, industry leaders and administrators.

NQ 5: Demonstrated commitment to remain current on issues within the industry and education.

Preferred Qualifications:
OQ 1: Participation in professional development training and/or industry-based certifications.

OQ 2: Experience that demonstrates successful, active participation in community and/or professional organizations and institutions of higher education

OQ 3: Curriculum planning, program development and leadership abilities.

OQ 4: Commitment to the philosophy of the community college.

OQ 5: Sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
