Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to advise the Director on appropriate best business practices and provide accurate accounting of revenue, expenditures and the collection of accounts receivables for all auxiliary units such as Food Services, Ticket Office, Quick Copy Print Shop, Eagle Copy Program, Mail Center, Vending Services, Eagle Card and University Bookstores. The individual assigned to the position is accountable for the compilation of data and the submittal of all journal entries and reporting for year-end processing according to established procedures.
Monthly, this individual is responsible for performing normal accounting functions to ensure that all revenue and expenditures are promptly received and recorded. This position is responsible for preparing statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for universities. Assist when necessary with accounts payable services including reviewing and auditing vendor invoices, preparing check requests, monitoring financial activities, aligning monthly spending with budgets, and maintaining vendor files for Business and Auxiliary Services units. Research all auxiliary accounts which had non-sufficient payments. Code invoices to appropriate general ledge accounts. Will serve on committees as assigned by the Director. Maintain outstanding customer service with internal and external customers.
This position is also responsible for analyzing revenue and expenditures, developing and maintaining 3, 5, and 10 year pro forma financial statements. Responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial reports and accounting files for budgeting and budget transfer and accounting purposes.
The position is also responsible for the immediate management, planning, program development and implementation of the EagleCopy Program, Central Graphics Print Shop and the Ticket Office.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Contributing: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or Associates Degree and two years of Administrative, Business, or Financial Management Experience.
Journey: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area and two years of Administrative Management or Business Management Experience.
*Advanced: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area and three years of Administrative Management or Business Management Experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of business practices; accounting, auditing, finance, operational analysis, computers, marketing, planning, project management, and human resources. Knowledge includes excellent oral, written, negotiation, and creativity skills; ability to exhibit good judgment and discretion skills when establishing, applying and interpreting a wide rang of administrative policies and procedures; ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal and state agency personnel, officials and the general public.
