Primary Purpose of Position:
The Assistant Professor will be expected to perform in teaching and teaching-related activities, produce scholarship outcomes and engage in service activities. Teaching includes clinical and lab teaching with direct supervision, indirect clinical supervision, classroom instruction, course coordination, clinical coordination, and student advising. Assistant Professors will develop instructional materials related to clinical areas assigned and evaluate student clinical performance according to established criteria and course objectives. Scholarship duties will include original work or research, internal and external funding, publications and professional presentations. Service includes contributing to departmental, university, community and professional organization committees.
The Assistant Professor position requires an earned doctorate in nursing or health related field; Masters in Nursing with specialty in Adult Health or Psych Mental Health.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Commitment to diversity and inclusion in fulfillment of the universitys mission; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; excellent analytical skills and reasoned judgment; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others; candidate must have at least three years of clinical experience in Adult Health or Psych Mental Health; candidate must have at least three years of teaching experience in Adult Health or Psych Mental Health.
