Job Summary

 

The Student Services Specialist I processes applications for admission based on admissions requirements and manages documents through careful review, scanning, imaging, and indexing. They provide general data entry support in the student information system (Banner SIS) and customer relation management system (Slate CRM). Additionally, they provide support in other areas, such as but not limited to, decisioning, tuition classification, verification of lawful presence, transfer credit review, transcript evaluation, etc.

Responsibilities

 

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ADMISSIONS PROCESSING:

Process applications for all incoming students from multiple systems.

Enter data into the student information system and update and maintain student information in the appropriate university systems.

Assist with the evaluation of transcripts and the decisioning process for all undergraduate application types.

DATA MANAGEMENT, SYSTEMS & QUALITY CONTROL:

Maintain and update student records in Banner, Slate, and Xtender document imaging systems.

Perform audits, reporting, and quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in student data and processing workflows.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMMUNICATION:

Provide student-centered service while addressing inquiries and resolving complex issues.

Communicate decisions, requests for documentation, and process updates to students and internal stakeholders.

OTHER:

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Perform special projects and temporary duties.

Contribute to the overall success of Undergraduate Admissions by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Required Qualifications

 

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with one year of administrative or customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience in BANNER, Xtender, Slate, Reporting Systems, transfer articulation or other student information systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Operation of a personal computer, photocopier equipment, imaging scanners, and standard office machines

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Attention to detail in collating and assembling printed or copied materials such as reports, bulletins, articles, and delivering finished materials

ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work efficiently

Shift/Salary/Benefits

 

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B2

Salary: $15.77/hourly-$18.54/hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

 

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
