The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of urology, Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must have done fellowship in URPS after finishing urology residency. They must also be certified by the American Board of Urology or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, urology residents, and URPS fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include surgical and non-surgical care of patients (male and female) with URPS-related urological complaints such as lower urinary tract symptoms, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor disorders, etc.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of scientific discovery in urology. Various research paths are acceptable including, but not limited to, basic science or laboratory research, translational research, clinical research, clinical trials, and outcomes research.

The clinical practice for this position will be housed primarily at the Pennsylvania Hospital.
