Description:
The Department of Accounting and Business Law at the Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor position starting in August 2027. The appointment as an Assistant Teaching Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor will depend on a candidate's experience and qualifications.

Baylor is a Christian research university with a rich tradition of teaching excellence. We invite candidates from diverse backgrounds who will help the department train undergraduate and graduate students in ways that model the Christian faith. An ideal candidate would have relevant professional and/or academic experience enabling them to teach a variety of accounting classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a strong preference for someone who can teach accounting information systems and/or emerging technology.

Overall, applicants will be expected to commit to excellence in teaching and service and, in carrying out these responsibilities, commit to authentically living out their faith.

Qualifications:
The position requires a graduate degree in accounting or a related field.

The ideal candidate will have either a PhD or a minimum of three years of professional experience.

An ideal candidate will have relevant professional and/or academic experience enabling them to teach a variety of accounting classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a strong preference for someone who can teach accounting information systems and/or emerging technology.

The Department of Accounting and Business Law: Accounting and Business Law, one of seven departments in the Hankamer School of Business, has a strong tradition of educating professionals who achieve positions of leadership in international organizations. The Department is AACSB-accredited and offers three degrees - BBA, Master of Accountancy (MAcc), and Master of Taxation (MTax). The flagship program is an integrated five-year curriculum that culminates in either the MAcc or MTax degree. With the current trends in our discipline, the department incorporates data analytics and emerging technology throughout the curriculum, and graduate students can earn a Certificate in Accounting Data and Analytics while completing coursework.
